This clinic will be an introduction to playing with various natural and man-made obstacles where participants will learn how to expose their equine to a variety of obstacles. Participants will learn in-hand and mounted skills to execute obstacles correctly and how to complete each one with success using proper equitation skills. Participants will expand their expertise in following a pre-set pattern, obstacle management, equitation skills and speed control. Although this clinic is designed for mounted play, those participants who wish to only participate in-hand will be accommodated.
Confidence and a positive learning environment are the main focus of this clinic for both the equine and human. Through the use of obstacles, participants will develop new skills to help with evaluating their horses confidence, emotional state and how to guide their equine through different tasks. The ultimate goal is to develop an understanding of how each small step will lead to the end goal and how to apply this understanding to future obstacles and situations. Each small step leads to bigger successes.
